Pumpkin Punch Art

Another 8 for $8 card for you. This one is CAS (Clean and Simple) for sure. You know I love punch art and I really love using punch art on a card. So that's what we did on this one.

Just something sweet and fun. I could picture a Thanksgiving dinner assemble like this: the menu, place cards, napkin rings, and of course thank yous. Wouldn't that be fun!?!

Okay, thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Telescoping Card

So I really love this style card. I have been seeing them a lot lately. Its different and fun and really easy to do. Here is my version. Not to mention I was anxious to play with all these fun new items I pre-ordered from the mini.

And here it is open. This DSP is called Spice Cake and it coordinates with that beautiful fabric I cant get enough of. You may notice a few other Sneak Peeks on here as well.

You should have received you Holiday Mini by now if you are on my mailing list. But if you don't have one and would like one, let me know. niki176@aol.com

Tattered Ribbon Scrap Necklace

Hello. Look, its me! Well, its my neck. I hardly ever show me. But here I am. Anyhoo, back to my fav fabric (that you will will be able to order on Thursday!) I made myself a little ribbon scrap necklace. It has a really fun tattered look to it because the fabric was torn not cut. Just start by cutting a 2 inch slit into the fabric then just give it a good tear the rest of the way. You will need three pieces for each color necklace. Then just braid them together. And if the necklace isn't long enough, just add in new pieces and continue to braid, no need to sew them in place. Finish by either tying the back or sewing the ends together, whichever you choose. Just another fun project I found on Pinterest.

I did finish mine off with a little Yoyo embellishment as well. Pretty easy and a good way to use up those fabric scraps too.

Happy Monday!

CAS Thank you

Just a quick post this morning. We are off and running to a super early soccer game. Hoping I have time to run by Starbucks!! This card is from our recent 8 for $8. We had a big group and as always it was a lot of fun.

We used the All for You stamp set on this one. Just some simple butterflies. Pretty, right?

Okay, that's it. Gotta run. I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Saturday!

Spice Cake Key Fob

**Sneak Peek Alert** Oh-My-Favorite-Fabric. Ever! Seriously. This new fabric will be available for order very shortly and you are gonna want to swoop up as much as you can. Its beautiful. I have four orders of it and yep, I'm ordering more. It is so pretty. I have already used a bit of it for some projects of my own, I will be using it for one of my stamp camp projects (***which by the way is already half full, so if you haven't gotten your registration in, you gotta do that quick!) and I have two holiday home decor projects I want to work on as well.

Okay, so back to this project. I love key fobs. They are super handy. I actually use mine to attach all my rewards cards to. I just use my crop-a-dile to punch a whole in the cards and attach them all together. It really helps keep them handy because I have rewards cards for just about every store but the problem is trying to remember to use them. Enter- key fobs! This was so easy to make. I am considering this one as my Stamp Camp raffle. What do you think? Would you want one? Did you sign up for camp? hmmmmm, what to do. what to do..............

Gettin' Punchy

There is a whole lot a punchin' and sponging on this one. I found this style card on Pinterest and thought it was kinda different so I decided to give it a try. Not sure if I am happy with the color combo but it was the closest I could get.

Monday was my cousin Lorraine's birthday so this one went to her with a little package of some SU consumables (mostly stuff from the new Holiday Mini) and a couple of fabric projects I made. I will show you one of them tomorrow. So stay tuned for that.

And of course, a little pretty on the inside of the card as well. Now that we did our class on the inside of the card, I am hooked. I like decorating the inside, its like a whole new blank canvas inside as well;)

Eeeek!

Esh, sorry about that flash. Kinda bright. I didn't notice it until I pulled the picture in here. Sorry about that. This card was another card from our "It's whats on the Inside" class. The front of the card is fairly simple.

We did a bit of distressing because that just works with the spooky Halloween feel. We also created our own Halloween DSP by using some Razzleberry Patterned paper and randomly stampin "happy Halloween" all over it. Kinda cute, right?

But here is the really fun part. When you open the card an adorable little spider drops out. Fun, huh? Not really scary by any means. He's more cute than anything. And the "Eek" sentiment works perfect.

Okay, gotta run. See you tomorrow!

Pillow Box-Thank you

One more fun favor for you. I love this one because it uses my favorite Favor-style die, the pillow box. This die is great by its self. Just run through the Big Shot and fill with candy. But take it one step farther and emboss it too. We used the polka dots embossing folder here. Then we took it one step father still and added a fun window to see the yummy-ness inside. Just punch a window using the Wide Oval punch and add a scrap piece of window sheet to the inside. Done!

Finish by embellishing with a bit of your favorite ribbon and a few more punches and there you have it!

As always, thanks for stopping by today. See you tomorrow!

Happy 2nd Birthday

This weekend we attended my nephew's 2nd birthday party. It was a little train ride through Niles Canyon. The girls were so excited to actually ride a train. Well, Ava was. Sammie was so scared, she was cliched on to me and ended up sleeping through the first half of the ride. But she warmed up on the ride back. Stay tuned for an MDS page of that.

Here is the card I made to go with his gift. I used my favorite DSP, Just Add Cake. I used my pennant punch to make a mini banner and also did a little stitching as an accent.

I finished the card off with, of course, a cupcake because cupcakes are a must with little birthdays and a big sparkly number 2.

Hope they liked the card. Thanks for a really fun day and happy birthday to my little nephew, Kieran (tomorrow actually.)

Coffee Birthday Wishes

The other day the hubs asked me to make a card for him for one of his co-worker's birthday. I love when he asks me for a card. I don't know why, but it makes me so happy. He also asked me if I would mind picking up a Starbucks gift card for her. Nope, of course! and I have the perfect card I have been waiting to try out.

So this is by no means my card. I cased it for sure. There are tons of really great samples out there but I especially love this one. Click here to see it. It is a video tutorial, which is always super helpful and her card is so adorable. You gotta see what she does with the SWAK ala carte stamp. It totally makes the card. I didn't have that stamp. Bummer! But it still works, right?

Just pull the lid and out sides the little gift card. I love it. So fun. Some people are just so darn creative.

Now go check out the video and make one for yourself.

Go Team!

Welcome back! Here is my soccer MDS page #2. We have completed our first season of Summer League Soccer and it was great. Ava loves it. Still trying to warm Sam up to the idea. But she does do practice with them, so that's a start. The final game of the season was so cute. First, they invited Sammie to play and give it a shot. But she was a little shy and not so ready. Then after half time, before they started the second half they huddled all the kids together (not sure what they were doing) then all the kids (as instructed) ran back to their parents and gave them a big hug and said," thank you for signing me up for soccer." It was so sweet. {tear.}

And after the huge parent tunnel ( that's the best part of the whole game to the kids), they were all given metals. Ava wore hers so proudly.......Until she saw Sammie sniffling because she wanted one. So Ava handed it over and said, " That's okay. Sammie can have it." {Double tear}

And just as perfect as it can be the coach saw the whole thing and said he actually had an extra so he gave it to Ava to replace the metal she handed away. Now they both have one and are so proud of themselves. Ava even wanted to wear hers to the wedding we recently attended (over her beautiful dress.) I thought it was cute but I had to draw the line somewhere:)

Okay, gotta run. Off to the first game of Fall League!

Its On the Inside-Up,Up and Away

Back to the Wow on the inside. Here is another fun window card. On this one, that ladies got to play with some fun product: Punches, window sheets and chipboard. Through the window you see one of my favorite sets: Up, Up and Away. But open the card to reveal......

a fun array of hot air balloons and the sweet, "Up in the air over you" sentiment. Love this set so much.

Okay, gotta run. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Thanks Big Time!

Here's another 3-D favor for you from our past class. This favor I wanted to show the ladies that you can make a favor with a die that is not typically used for favors. This uses the Scallop Square die. Its perfect for holding some of those dipped pretzel sticks or candy canes. Or as in one of my customers versions, a biscotti. One of my friends/customers who attended the class recreated this favor the next day as the favor for her father's birthday party. Perfect, right? She said everyone loved it.

We embellished the little favor with a few punches, my favorite ribbon and one of those adorable mini clothes pins. That's it! Easy-peasy.

Thanks for stoppin' by today, see you tomorrow.

Its On the Inside-Sympathy

Last week's class focused on the inside of the card. The idea for this class was a request from one of my friends and to tell you the truth it made it really fun. We made four cards total. Each card front had a clean and simple look while the inside of the card was waiting to reveal something fun.

This monochromatic card was a sympathy card that opens to reveal a pop-up vase of flowers.

One essential for the inside of cards is also a really great sentiment set. One I love is God's Blessings. It has a variety of great sayings for all different occasions. In this case we used the sympathy verse. Sympathy cards are no fun to make and since it is so hard to think of the right thing to say, this set comes in really handy at those rough moments.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you like the card.

Oh, and by the way. I have been having issues with comments lately. It took me a while to figure it out and I have been receiving emails regarding it. But I think I got it fixed so please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. It always makes me smile to hear from you;)

Rosette Braclet

I have been on a roll with fabric lately, literally. I love fabric and there is a brand new one I am dying to show you (stay tuned) but here I was playing around with my flirtatious fabric. I love making these little rosettes. They are super easy, they come out great every time, and you really cant mess them up.

I started by making four of them then I hot glued them to a piece of ribbon. About four are the perfect amount to fit around your wrist. I matched mine with some white ribbon and tied it on.

Now I am not one that wears a lot of jewelry (it bugs me when its bangs and clangs on everything I touch.) But these are incredibly comfortable. I wore mine all day and I barley noticed it.

Now stay tuned and I will show you a few other fabric creations I have been working on as well.......

Double Embossed Beauty

As promised, I wanted to share with you the beautiful card we made at our recent Favorite Things party. This card was supplied and demonstrated by my cousin, Lorraine. It was a real treat. The idea for this card came from a past issue of Stampin Success Magazine (a super cool tool you will receive, once you sign up to be part of my team:)) The technique is called Double Embossing because it is a combo of Heat embossing at the same time as Dry embossing. Way cool! But to tell you the truth, the idea intimidated me a bit and I didn't want to try it. But Lorraine was there to hold our hands and walk us thought it. And you know what........It was easy. And beautiful. And fun.

So thanks Lorraine, we loved how the card turned out. And thank you for supplying everything. That was incredibly generous of you. {{Hugs}}

If you would like to learn this technique email me and we can demo it at your next party. Whoo Hoo! niki176@aol.com

Wish Big

Back to our "Do Me a Favor" Class, here is another fun birthday favor that the ladies made. This little party hat was inspired by an adorable version by Mercedes Weber (huge fan of hers!) She made hers for her daughter and it was very cool. Click here to check it out. For our version we omitted the tissue paper and made it a neutral version, that way the ladies can choose to use it for an upcoming birthday or choose to keep it as their sample.

It was really cute to see how all the hats came out. You would think they would have all looked the same but to my surprise they didn't. Depending on how each person did their fringe at the top of the hat, they all looked different. Some had tight little curls, some had big loopy curls and both ways gave the hat a different whimsical look. Who would have thought!?! It was so cool.

Thanks Mercedes for the inspiration!

Something Sweet

Back to the wedding, I just wanted to share with you these cute little favors that they gave out. I am sure they were a creation of Ashley. I forgot to ask, but I am pretty sure they were. These are sweet, right? Cute idea. I should have snapped a picture of the display too. They were stacked on a table, some piled in these cool crates. I thought it was really pretty. I haven't actually tried them yet but I am sure they are as sweet as they look.

And here is a close up shot of the tag. I recognize that punch for sure. Nice job on these. they are a great wedding favor.

Be sure to check out Ashley's blog as well. Click here.

Mr. and Mrs.

Here is a very simply layout for the reception we attended last weekend. Isn't that a great picture of my cousin and his new wife? And of course that darling picture of the girls with their cousins. I love it! I tried to get some pictures of these kiddos on the dance floor, which was so funny, but they didn't come out great. That's all right. I like how the page turned out. Its so nice when kids get to an age where you can easily heard them together for a picture;)

Remember, new digital downloads are released every Tuesday. Be sure to check in and see the latest additions. Click here to view them now. Have a great day!

Deliciously Made

Back to our Favor Class from last week. Here is another favor box we made that is perfect for that homemade yummy-ness. Just picture a little stack of cookies in here or a festive cello bag full of candy or popcorn. And you will notice we embellished it with my favorite stamp set, Creatively Yours. Those mini brads are top on my list too. Love them, they are so soft and subtle. Trust me, give 'em a try and you will be hooked too.

This particular die, the Scallop envelope, is one of my favorites. It is about as versatile as they come. Use one for a cute envelope to use on a card, scrapbook page, or by itself. Use two to create an adorable treat holder that hold Ghiradelli Chocolate squares perfect. Or use four for a great box, just like this one here.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

For the Newlyweds

Happy Sunday everyone. I think I am do for a Sunday of not doing much at all. That's my plan today. The hubs is in a big golf tournament so we will just be waiting around to see how he finishes (fingers crossed for him.) These past few days we have been on the run non-stop so I am ready just to chill for a bit.

Last night we attended a wedding reception for one of my cousins. It was really great. He and his beautiful wife eloped a few weeks ago and last night we got together to celebrate. The reception was at a beautiful (and huge) church. It was great time with my family and fun wedding festivities. Of course Ava and Sam love weddings. I think for them seeing a bride is like seeing a real live Princess. They are always in awe. It's so cute. They also got to be with all those "Gregory grand-girls", all five of them and they are always so adorable together. You should have seen the little group of them taking over the dance floor. But to our surprise the one that stole the show was our little Gia. As shy as she is, that kiddo has some moves! It was so funny and I could watch her all night.

So back to the card. Here is the card I made for the new Mr and Mrs. Gregory. Wedding cards are really fun to make and I was happy with this one. I got to finally use one of those Beveled Windows I bought a while ago that I have been hoarding for the right card (I don't know why I do that.)

Anyway, stay tuned for an MDS page and to see what their favor looked like. Have a relaxing Sunday, I will!

Favorite Things Party

Last night was so much fun! I had a few ladies over for a little "Favorite Things" Party. I found the idea for this party on (one of my favorite things right now) Pinterest! If you don't know what Pinterest is you have got to check it out. But here is how the party works:

Each person brings their favorite thing (anything you like.. your favorite lip gloss, favorite kitchen tool, favorite gift wrapping supply, a gift card for your favorite frozen yogurt, etc.). It can't cost more than $6, and each person brings five of the same thing. When you arrive at the party, you write your name on five slips of paper and throw them in a big bowl. The bowl is passed around, and each person takes five names (making sure you don't pick your own.. or two of the same name). One at a time each person introduces their favorite thing and then reads the five names they picked from the bowl, passing out their gift to those five guests. After everyone at the party has presented their favorite thing, each person should end up with five gifts to take home. It's always interesting to see what people choose, and some guests have started to bring a notepad and pen to jot down what people love.

I had a few of my favorite munchies on hand including Costco's Chocolate Raisins, Wild Vines Blackberry Merlot (because I am so not a wine drinker) and some yummy veggies. Then Lorraine brought her de-lish Seven Layer dip (Brandon keep sneakin' out to gobble that too) and Jen brought THE MOST DE-LISH-OUS (I am serious!!) brownies I have every had. Seriously.

We even did a make and take provided totally by Lorraine. That was a treat! Considering we all have that "Favorite Thing" in common. It was a stunning card too. Stay tuned and I will show you shortly. Thanks, Lorraine for doing that for us. We all loved it!

And, of course, the loot. We got some goodies! It was so much fun. And just to step up the favorite things theme, we drew numbers to see who would go first and on each card was a question we all had to answer (which sometimes sent us off into tangents of crazy chit chatting.) Questions like:What's your all time favorite book? What's your all time favorite movie? Favorite T.V. show or favorite guilty pleasure T.V. show? Stuff like that.

And here is what we got in return:

Julie- A beautiful Pen, and Root Beer See's Lollipop

Jen- Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizer (in the cute little holder)and Wipes, and Yoyo pins she made!

Lorraine- Iced Carmel Viva (yum!) and the new Thirty-One Catalog

Charlotte-Gorgeous reusable tote and travel cup

Niki- Strawberry Reusable Tote

Nicole-Burt's Bees Chap stick, Lip Smackers Chap stick in an adorable handmade bee box, and she even said that my classes are one of her favorite things. That was so sweet! Makes my heart pitter-patter. mwah!

Thanks ladies for coming and spending your evening with me. I loved it. I hope you did too! We will have to do it again sometime!
