Of the Earth

I pulled inspiration for this card from many. First, I have always liked the Upsy Daisy Stamp set but I don't have it yet. I saw another card that mimicked the look using the flower from the Of the Earth Stamp set like this and I really liked it. I don't remember the creator of the card though. Next, I really like the mosaic look of four In Colors together using the same stamp. I think it is a mosaic look but maybe it is more if a Andy Warhol look too. I am not sure if you can see it in the picture but I used the "postage stamp" stamp from the Christmas Punch stamp set behind the birds to create my own postage stamp look. I was really happy with the way this card came out. Now I will hang on to it until I have a recipient for it;)

Fun with 3X3 Cards

Here is a fun little set of 3X3 cards that I was working on the other day. They are fairly simple thanks to my new favorites: the Planter Box Rub-ons. All that I did for these little guys is cut my selected In Colors, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry into 3X6" strips. Then I cut a white matte at 2 3/4 X 2 3/4. The next layer was made out of the same color In Color as the base of each card at 2 1/2 X 2 1/2. Then I added a flower from those easy to use Rub-ons. I attached the matte to the card with a few dimensionals so I would have room to slide my ribbon underneath. To finish the card I added a Clear Rhinestone brad in the center of each flower. I will be giving these out individually but I think they would make a nice set to gift to someone as well. Hope you like;)

Birthday Shaker

video

This is my first video upload so please let me know how it works out. I am not sure how the volume will be and if you can hear me (and my kiddos in the background.) This was the other card that I made for the June Stampin Challenge. If you are a demonstrator you can see my full entry on the demonstrator website. For some reason the pictures got a bit distorted online. This is a really fun little shaker and it uses some supplies that you probably wouldn't normally think to use. I hope to do a class around this card soon. So stay tuned!

Baby Shower Items

As promised here are some of the Baby shower items I made in action. Most of these you have see already in previous postings. But here they are in all their glory. Sad to say, my Sister was having a really ruff day that day. She was really sick and in a lot of pain all day. But she toughed it out and she said she was really happy with how everything turned out. I have to say she looked adorable too. Makes me want to do it again! In these pictures you will see the favors, cupcake toppers, water bottles and little food signs. For the water bottles I took the labels off and decorated the top with some curling ribbon and added a blank tag so the guests could write their names on their bottle (to cut down on waste.) The Big Shot Pillow Boxes were filled with blue and white jelly beans and I also placed large bowls of Jelly Belly's out with little food tags in them like the "Enjoy" tag that you see in the picture. By the way, if anyone likes Jelly Belly's let me know I am drowning in them. My brother got me 20 pounds of them. What and I going to do with that many Jelly Beans???? All of the projects were made with the now Retired Parisian Breeze DSP and the adorable Just Beachy stamp set from our last Mini. Hope you like the way everything came out.

Final Deal of the Week

The final Deal of the Week was just announced. It is my favorite punch! The Heart to Heart Punch. Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest, dimension, and color to your cards, tags and scrapbook pages. You can glue punched shapes directly onto your projects or layer a sheet of card stock that has been punched over a coordinating card stock for a reverse effect. The Heart to Heart punch is a classic punch that coordinates with the Love You Much stamp set. Be sure to place your order today for this great deal. This punch is 30% off the regular price which makes it only $10.99. What a deal! Remember, this offer is only good for one week so don't forget to place your order. Item # 113694.

As Promised

As Promised here is one of the cards that we made at our Birthday Stamp A Stack on Thursday night. I really liked this card. It is an interactive card. So when you give it to a special little princess it looks like a wand card that reads " may all your wishes come true" then she is able to pull out the wand and use that for play. Cute, huh? Just imagine the variations you can do with this card. Add some Dazzling Diamonds for sparkle, leave some ribbons hanging down as streamers, try it in a different size using your Stars Big Shot Die Cut. Let me know what else you can come up with. I would love to see your version of this card. I am also attaching some pictures of the ladies hard at work. Thanks again ladies. Hope you enjoyed all the projects.

Oops!

Well today I was going to show you one of the fabulous cards that we made at last night's Birthday Stamp-a-Stack and a few fun pictures of the ladies in action but I was tired last night and forgot to bring my camera with me this morning so I could upload the pictures for you. Ooops! So I will post those tomorrow. Thanks to all the ladies that joined us last night. I had a lot of fun, as always, and I hope you did too.

So I don't leave you hanging without a project, here is a cute summer invitation that is featured on My Stampin Up site. You can hop over to my Stampin site to see the supplies used for this project by clicking on the Sites to Frequent section of my blog. Have a great day!

Decor Elements in Action

These pictures were sent to me by my downline, Ashley. She sold these adorable Decor Elements to her mom (my Aunt). Her mom has just finished remodeling her kitchen/family room and decided that she really loved our New Decor Elements and wanted to give them a try. This is how they turned out. Really beautiful, huh? I think these Decor Elements add a touch of softness to any room. And like Ashley agreed when I talked to her (she was there to help her mom apply them), they are really easy to use. I have been eyeing a few of the Decor Elements myself. As most of you know I recently moved so I am eager to give this home some crafty touches. I hope to have some pictures of my own to show you soon. In the mean time I hope you enjoy these because I thought they looked great and they have definitely inspired me.

Contest Entry

This card was part of my entry for the June Stampin Challenge. It wasn't a winner but I was still happy with how it came out. If you are a demonstrator you can view my submission on the demonstrator website along with my other card and the instructions on how I made it. For some reason, I am not sure if it was on my side or the Stampin Up side but when my entry was posted on the demonstrator website my pictures got distorted. So here is a cleaner version of the picture. As most of you know the Heart to Heat Punch comes with three cute little hearts that punch out. I used two on the outside of the card. Then because I didn't want to leave out one lonely little heart, I added it to the inside of the card for some extra color. How do you think it turned out?

Another Gift for My Sis

I just cant stop gifting. My sis-in-law's shower is this weekend and I am super excited. I hope to have some really great pictures for you on Monday or Tuesday (probably Tuesday because of the deal of the week). This is an altered scratch pad that I will use for writing down gifts for her as she opens them. I embellished the pad with some of the fabulous polka dot DSP from the Moments and Milestones Simply Scrapin Kit. Then I added some White Grosgrain Ribbon, a few coordinating beads and a Baby tag from the super cute Admit It stamp set. I then made a RSVP pen to match the paper pad. All I did was use a scrap piece of DSP, rolled it up and slipped it into the pen. When I am done writing her gifts down for her I will leave this pad of paper for her so she can use it as a Grocery List, To Do List, Honey-Do List or what ever she would like. These are a super quick, inexpensive and cute gift to give someone. Give it a try and let me know how yours come out. If you go to staples and buy a regular pack of note pads they will cut them in half for you for cheap. Have fun!

Birthday Simple

Here is a quick a clean birthday card that will work for just about anyone. I have to admit, the more I play around with our new In Colors the more I love them. I am really loving the Melon Mambo. For this card I used my new Everything Nice stamp set. I inked the birthday phase with Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango. Then I tied a knot around my card in the Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon. Then I tied knots using the remaining In Color Polka Dot Ribbon. To finish the card I used my corner rounder to round the bottom corners of the card. Then there you have it. Pretty quick.

Herb Expressions

I was super excited to get the Herb Expressions Stamp Set. I think this set was top of my wish list so I was super excited to get it for free! How? I earned it with my demonstrator discount and by being the hostess of my own party. Want to learn more? Just shoot me an email and we can chat more about it!

I have been seeing a lot of card made lately where they color in parts of the stamped image with their White Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. I really like the effect that that look gives. So I wanted to try it with my Herb Expressions stamp set. Then I was having fun and couldn't stop. So I colored in the leaves as well, then colored them back in with a Old Olive Stamping Write Marker. I think it gives it a different look. Oh, by the way, Have your ordered the Cottage Wall DSP paper yet? You should. It is so beautiful in person. It is my favorite right now. I am resisting the urge to use it on all my cards so I can give you a bit of variety. Have a great weekend!

Past Demo Swap

This card was one that I received at a past Demonstrator meeting. It was made by my upline Beverlee. You can see more of her creations by clicking HERE. I really loved this card and the best part is that even with the catalog change it is still current. I am not sure about the back ground stamp though. But the stamp sets used were Inspired by Nature and Embrace Life. I really love the dimension on this card because Beverlee ran her Top Note Die through the Big Shot with card board. Did you know that the Big Shot can cut through all kinds of different material? She then cover the card board with a cut out of the same die in card stock and a Window sheet that she stamped with White Stazon ( I think). I think this card came out really beautiful though. What do you think?

Enjoy Scrapbooking

Today's posting was a progressive scrapbook page that I made at a party we had at my husband's work last week. I had a really fun time with all the ladies. It was their lunch break so we ate pizza and shared the catalog and we event had time for this scrapbook demo and a "Make and Take." If you would like to share Stampin Up with your co-workers we can do this at your work as well. It gives your work day a nice, fun break during the middle of your day. Let me know if this sounds like fun to you. Of course you would be the hostess! So you will have the opportunity to earn free stuff as well.

For this page I used the Enjoy Every Moment Stamp set, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Whisper White and So Saffron Card Stock, Dusty Durango Classic Ink, Melon Mambo Ink and even thought it is hard to see I used Pretty in Pink Ink for the phase "the little things" on the big picture.

Cutie by Mail

I just love getting cards in the mail. Especially when I am not expecting them. I cant wait to open them up and see what they look like. I can spot a Stampin Up envelope a mile away. How about you? And as fun as it is to receive cards it is just as fun to send them. Ever since I started doing Stampin Up it has made me a better person. It always helps to remind me to say thank you to someone and it helps me keep in touch with friends that I haven't see in a while. Sometimes it is easier to send someone a card to say "I was thinking about you", then it is to find the time to call them. What do you think?

This is another Alyssa card. If you are a frequenter of my blog then you have see her work before. I would say she is a relatively new Stamper but as you can see by her work I am not sure that is true anymore. Now I would call her a Pro! Her cards are always so clean and elegant. I cant wait to see what her next card will look like. Keep 'em comin' Alyssa.

Summer Pinwheel

This card is a nice summer card and it is super quick and easy to make. I also really like the dimension on the card as you can see in the second photo. All you have to do to make this card is take a square piece of DSP then fold it in half (corner to corner) in both directions so you can find the center of the paper. Then cut along the creases almost to the middle, but not quite. Then using a small handheld hole punch, punch one hole in the middle of your card and also on the outside corners of your DSP. You only need to punch a hole in every other corner. Then using a brad fold in every corner that you punched a hole in (should be every other corner.) There you have your pinwheel. I kept this card simple and matted my pinwheel on two slightly bigger squares. Then I finished my card with a phase from my Chit Chat Rub-ons. This would make a really cute Fourth of July Card with a festive Red, White and Blue patterned paper. What do you think?

Razzleberry Thank You

This card may seem a little out of season but it was actually perfect for the recipient. One of my husbands co-workers is so wonderful about always bringing us fresh eggs from her own chickens. We love getting them because we use a lot of eggs around here: We love egg salad, Cobb salad, omelets you name it. So for this card I used the Good Egg stamp set which I love. This set gets plenty of use around Easter and I was really glad I had it for this card. I used the Rich Razzleberry for the base of the card and added some of the same color DSP from the beautiful Razzleberry Lemonade DSP packet. I stamped my little chick in Rich Razzleberry as well, this technique is call Mono-Chromatic (when you use the same color paper and ink together.) It gave the chick a very soft look. I stamped the "thank you" from the Short and Sweet stamp set and punched it out with my word window. The word window is popped up with a dimensional. A little bit of the White Satin Ribbon and a few of the White buttons from the Button Latte help finish the card. I hope she likes it.

A Note of Thanks

Hello Ladies, I want to thank all of you that attended the garage sale yesterday. I hope you found lots of goodies to take home with you, and enjoyed the demo and the make and take as well. Collectively you all bought over $1,000 worth of Stampin stuff. So I know there are a lot of happy Stampin' ladies out there right now.

Today's card is a card that I made for one of our wonderful new neighbors. We received a really nice housewarming basket full of goodies: Brie, crackers, cookies, wine and a very pretty plant (that I hope I can keep alive.) This is their thank you card that I gave to them. I used my Welcome Home stamp set for this card. The color combination you may recognize from yesterday's post. The DSP came from the Moments and Milestones Simply Scrapin Kit. The paper in that kit is too cute. I added a few buttons and some coordinating ribbon to finish the card off. Hope everyone has a wonderful stampin filled weekend. See you at the Birthday Stamp-A-Stack.

Moments and Milestones

For those of you out there that love to scrapbook but have a hard time finding the time to get it done, may I suggest our Simply Scrappin Kits. They make scrapbooking a snap. I love these kits. Not only are they quick to use but they are cute and fun too. I bought the new Moments and Milestones Simply Scrappin Kit so I could make my sis-in-law a baby book. Because the DSP, Card stock and embellishments all match perfectly, all I had to do was throw it together. I made 12 pages in about 40 minutes. Pretty nice, huh? This is a really cute kit and the best part is I will still have plenty of DSP and embellishments to make a few cards with as well.***TIP: The self-adhesive die cuts that come with the kit are very forgiving. So you can decorate to your hearts content and if you don't like the way it looks they easily peel up to be placed elsewhere.

FIN-tastic

Look at this little cutie that I received in the mail yesterday. I think this is so adorable. I got this card from my friend and customer Jenn. You really make cute cards Jenn! I hope you and Hannah are having a great time on vacation. We miss you. We will have to get together when you get back into town.

Anyhoo, Jenn used the Whale Wishes stamp set on this card. Super cute set. She also used the spring 2009 In Colors. I just love how you did the ribbon. I know some of this is retired but it still makes it onto the blog just for cuteness points. Great job Jenn!

Tool Time

Here is a card that received at our last Imprints Meeting. It was made by Karen. I wanted to show you this but it got a little lost in the shuffle of our move. I think this is a great guy card. And although I haven't tried to recreate it myself yet, it looks like a quick make to me.

Those cute little (or big) wrenches where made with punches and a little sponging on the edges. This is definitely a card a guy's guy can appreciate. Good job Karen.

A Little Love

Here is a quick 3X3 card that I made. I am not sure but I may use it on a gift for my husband. Our 5 year anniversary is in a few days. It's our first mini-milestone anniversary. And even though this is a 3x3 card I can still fit a lot of love into a little card. For this card I used my new Melon Mambo card stock and a bit of Whisper White. I stamped the leaves from the Great Friend stamp set (which is now in our catalog, whoo hoo!) in Whisper White. Remember to be careful when using Craft Ink, it can be messy. Then I added the "love you" stamp from the Short and Sweet set. I added a few of the buttons from the Button Latte pack and tied a bow with my Hemp Twine to finish off the card. And there you go. Quick and simple. I know it's pink (or Melon) but he wont mind.

Happy Fourth!

Today is family day and a day to celebrate this wonderful country we live in. So I apologize that I don't have a card or creation for you today. Actually, I already posted my 4th of July card earlier last week. It was a Happy Birthday card for my brother. Today I am taking the day off to relax and swim with my family and tomorrow we are going to enjoy the Fair. I can't wait. I think I am still a bit of a kid inside. Or maybe it is just so exciting to share things with my girls and watch their excitement. I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday weekend. I leave you with this video of a really cool fireworks show-Disney style!

Thanks For Your Support

Here is the perfect card to send to your girlfriend to tell her "thanks for the support." This card is a quick make because it is just a little punch art. I really liked the bright colors and any DSP looks great. Try it yourself. Let me know if you need any tips. I used the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (which is so pretty in person.)
