IMPRINTS Inspiration

This "Dad" card was created by my Upline Beverlee for our IMPRINTS meeting last week. I just love it. It is really clean and simple! So it inspired me to make a Mom version of the same card. I used Whisper White Card Stock for the base of the card and did the gate fold. I added a bit of my Walk in the Park DSP to each of the side panels. The I made a rectangle for across the gate using Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, and a Walk in the Park DSP. I spelled out "MOM" using my On-Board Chip Board, which I covered with Craft Whisper White Ink. To finish I added a felt flower and a Clear Rhinestone Brad. Another one of my many Mother's Day cards that I will give out. Thanks Beverlee for the inspiration. I love your card!!

Family Love

Remember, Mother's Day is on May 10th! I am sure if you are a mother yourself you already know that and are counting your days till your day off (so to speak). I am slowly trying to work on the few Mother's Day cards that I have to make this year. This particular card I had fun with. This was a "no stampin required" card. I used Baja Breeze Card Stock for the card base. Then I added some Baja Breeze Ribbon and a tag made out of Rub-ons that reads "family." Then using my 1 3/8" Circle punch and my Scallop Circle Punch I made a window in the bottom corner of the card that reveals a little bird. When you open the card there is another card inside. The top flap opens to show a few more birds and flowers and the sentiment "Love." I thought that this was a fun and different layout. This card is super girlie and perfect for one of the special Moms in my life. I hope she likes it!

A Crowd Favorite!

The Tangerine Card shown here was a card that I received at one of our past Demonstrator meetings. Forgive me but I don't know who the original maker of this card was. Maybe someone can leave me a comment and let me know so I can give credit for it. If you booked a party with me late last year you probably recognize this card. I made it at a lot of parties. It is a simple WOW! for me. Even for beginning stampers, all the cards came out beautiful! I think it has such a clean look. So, when I had an Open House recently I decided to use it again but with a twist. In the smaller version you will see I made a 3X3 card in Baja Breeze. I used the same "Pocket Silhouette" Stamp Set but changed the colors and instead of using the longer "Heard from the Heart" stamp set, I used "Short and Sweet." I love these cards, Hope you do too!

Color Challenge

This is my first time participating in a Color Challenge. It is just one more thing I thought I would try in order to pull me out of my little box and stir up some creativity. I watch these challenges a lot and I always think that the colors are beautiful and so different that anything I would think to put together. Want to join in? Just follow this link and you can see all the other creations and the rules so you can play too:http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/. The colors I used were Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Summer Sun. You will see that generic colors are used and us Stampin Up-ers have to switch them to our colors. But what is really neat about these challenges is that you will see all kinds of creations not just cards. How do you think I did? Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday. It's family day for us so we are off to the Asparagus Festival for some delicious Deep Fried Asparagus and fun!

Popcorn Jar

Sorry for the delay this morning. It was another episode of Niki vs. The Computer. I think I won it the end. So, this morning I wanted to share with you my new Popcorn Jar. I got this particular jar (on Sale) from the Decor Store in Livermore. I just love that store! As you can see, this is a really big jar. I used all the popcorn I had on hand and it only filled it half way. Sorry if the glare in the picture makes it hard to see. I used one of my Finesse Flower Decor Elements on this jar. This flower comes in White (like on the Easter Baskets I made for my girls), Black and Chocolate. I used Chocolate here. Then I added a ribbon band around the top of the jar with Sticky Strip and my favorite 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon. Then I made a tag to hang off the lid with my Good Morning Sunshine DSP, So Saffron Card Stock and Whisper White Card Stock. On the Whisper White I stamped a Pocket Silhouette stamp and added some Dazzling Diamonds. I covered a Chip Board "T" with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and attached it with some Glue Dots. I attached one Jumbo Brad to the top of my tag and there you have it! I think it came out cute! If you haven't tried the Decor Elements yet I encourage you to give it a shot. They are so cute and add a little touch of "homemade" to any project. If you aren't ready to try it on your walls try a vase or a mirror or even a picture frame. Let me see what you come up with! Voila

Today's card I made with the Voila Stamp Set. Too cute! This was a simple Birthday card. I stamped the Chef in Basic Black Classic Ink on Whisper White paper. Then I stamped him again on some Jackpot DSP and cut out just his clothes so that his little jacket and hat would be patterned. Then I stamped the birthday cake on a small strip of Whisper White paper. Using my cutting blade I cut a slit in the platter on the chef's hand. Then I slipped the cake into the slot and secured the bottom of the cake strip with a half circle punch on the back side of the Whisper White paper so that the cake would stop at the right spot. I added the platter cover to the top of the birthday cake strip so that I would have something to cover where that cake would be and so that I would have something to pull up on. I added a bit of the Black Gingham Ribbon as well. I also had an extra border from a black Top Note that I used so I added that as a border to the card. This sounds complicated but it really wasn't. Hope you like!

Love Beyond Measure

I made this card for my Grandpa who is in the hospital right now slowly recovering from a 4-way Bypass. He, like my dad is very talented, went it comes to tools so I know he will love this card. My Grandpa is an excellent wood carver. He actually teaches classes and even had a television show! Pretty cool, huh? So I made this card for him and between my Grandpa, my Dad and my Brother I know I will get plenty of use out of this cute set. This stamp set is called Totally Tool. I used Baja Breeze Card Stock and Baja Breeze ink for the base of the card. Then I added some of the Parisian Breeze DSP. This particular DSP is texture and is really beautiful in person, you have to see it. I used the Tape Measure because I loved the "Love Beyond Measure" sentiment. I popped up the tape measure using a dimensional which gave it a really nice touch. Sorry, I forgot to take a side view picture. I mounted the tape measure with textured Baja Breeze DSP and Chocolate Chip Card Stock. Ava was really proud of the card and really wanted to give it to her Papa but she is still sick and so we can't go into ICU but she did add some loving wrinkles to the card by holding it in her strong little hand. I think that okay though, it made the card look loved.

Strawberry Basket

*** Updated: Sorry to those of you whose were reading my measurements this morning. They were a little off. Thanks to a handy Splitcoaster: PebbleKraft I am back on track. Thanks for pointing it out to me. The measurements should be right now. Hope I didn't mess anyone up. Sorry!

Lately I have been trying to come up with something that is out of the norm. I was playing around with a half sheet of card stock and I wanted to come up with a different fold. I just love the gate fold card, I think it works great for party invitations. This card I made with a 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 Sheet of Close to Cocoa Card Stock. I scored the sheet in half and then scored it again at 2 inches. Then I ran the 2 inch section through my crimper and folded it up. Then I made a little basket of strawberries using a Big Shot Scallop Envelope, the Birds and Blooms flower, a Clear Rhinestone Brad and the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set. I matted the strawberry basket on Whisper White, Jackpot DSP, and Chocolate Chip Card Stock. The square image on the front of the card hides what is behind it. When you open the card you will see the Whisper White Card Stock with the Thank You sentiment and the little ant carrying a strawberry away (that was a CASE of a card I made earlier in the week, I just liked the way the little ant looked carrying his load). Just a different way to layout you card. I thought that this layout would be really nice for a Summer BBQ invitation. Just print the party info on the inside to be revealed when the card is opened. Give it a try and let me know how it comes out. See you tomorrow!

Color Inventory Chart

Okay ladies. I just want to give a heads up. I have two really sick Kiddos at home and I think a sick computer as well. Every morning I cross my fingers that my computer wont die on me (it's really old, from 1999.) So, I am going to do my very best not to disappoint but if I miss a post one day or I am late I promise I will make it up to you. Thanks for stickin' with me. Today's post was a little project I made a few days ago. I thought it would make a nice "gift of the month" or a nice Hostess gift as well. I know sometimes it is hard to remember all the supplies you have on hand and which supplies you still need to add to your collection. So I made this little fold up chart that can easily be thrown in you purse when you are off to a Stampin' Party. It is an easy way to track your markers, paper and stamp pads. If you would like to sign up to hostess a party so you can receive one of these cuties let me know. And for those of you Demos listening, you can find the Color Inventory Chart printout on our Demo Site under Printing Place. Hope you like it. See you tomorrow.

Par-fect Card

As promised here is the winning Card from our swap yesterday. This card got my vote as well. As many of you know every special man in my life is a golfer so this is right up my alley. This card was a huge hit with every one! Ruby Johnson is the creator of this cutie and get this: She is a brand new demonstrator! Julie is definitely lucky to have her on her team. Ruby used the "And Many Mover" Stamp set from the Occasions Mini.

We had such a great meeting yesterday. Thanks Bev! I got 20 adorable cards, made 3 super cute make and takes (that I cant wait to show you), and tons of other really cute ideas including a really cool mini scrapbook and you won't believe what one demonstrator did with her Big Shot and a pair of flip-flips (you will definitely see my girls sporting these this summer.) I was also so excited to see so many new ladies taking advantage of the great benefits that come along with being a demonstrator. It was really nice to meet all of you yesterday. And again great card Ruby!!!

And Many More!

Well today I am heading off to one of my Imprints meeting. That is a meeting of all demonstrators, hosted by my upline Beverlee. I have so much fun at these meetings. We talk about Stampin, share tips and stories with each other, make projects, and we always do a themed card swap. Our theme for this meeting was a masculine card. That is always challenging for everyone. So the first thing I thought was: no flowers, no ribbon. This is what I came up with. What do you think? I hope they like it. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. We usually vote on the best card and the winner gets a gift from Beverlee. I will show you the winning card once I get it. By the way, if this sounds like fun to you and you are interested in seeing what it is like to be a demonstrator let me know. I would love to bring you along to our next meeting! Have a great day!

Tart and Tangy

Good Morning! This was a super quick card that I made last night so that I would have something for you today. I used a 3 X3 card. You know I love these. I used Ridding Hood Red for the card base then added a strip of Basic Black and a smaller square of Whisper White. I stamped the ants from my Bugs and Kisses Stamp Set, then I stamped the Strawberry from the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set. The center Strawberry I popped up with a dimensional. I added some Black Gingham Ribbon and a sentiment from the Chit Chat Rub-ons. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Goody Goody Gumdrops

Morning Ladies! Today's card was the thank you that I made for my daughters birthday party. I used the Goody Goody Gumdrops Stamp Set (Level 3 Hostess Set) for the card. The base of the card was Regal Rose and the DSP is from the Raspberry Tart pack. I used Whisper White and Pretty in Pink Card stock as well. You will notice when you look at the stamp set that the gumdrop that I used is a single gumdrop. How did I get them to look like a pile of gumdrops? That is a technique called masking. What is masking? Well that is the technique that I can show you and your guests at your next party. Just give me a call to schedule your party today! Or if you have another technique that you would like to learn or a tool that you would like to try using just let me know! Hope to hear from you soon. I will see those of you coming to the punch book class tonight!

Just Beachy

I am definitely itchin' for the warmer weather. This new set doesn't help either. I just love the new Just Beachy Stamp Set and the Lazy Days Stampin Wheel. I love the fish they are too cute . I wasn't able to use them on this card but I did use them for a few other projects that I made. You may see those a little later. Birthday Boy

Ask me what my favorite Stampin Up product is right now. Go on ask me......It's the Rub-Ons. I love them. They are so easy and quick to use. I recently got my Hand Drawn Bundle (a Level 3 Hostess set). I was looking at the Rub-ons and I just love the little airplane. I kept on thinking of how I would use it. Last Saturday was my Grandpa-in-Law's birthday. I thought that it would be perfect for him. I used Baja Breeze Card Stock for the base of the card and a bit of the Happy Birthday DSP from the Hand Drawn Bundle Kit. I added a Happy Birthday Rub-on and matted it in Certainly Celery. I added a little knot of Ridding Hood Red Ribbon. Then of course that cute little airplane and I added a few presents so they would look like then where falling out of the plane. What do you think? Because it was Grandpa I thought that it gave the card a "Young at Heart" kind of a feel. He really liked it!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Here is another one of those cards that I really hate to make. This card is for a family member that just lost someone special to them. If you are reading now please know that my prayers are with you! This card was made with Kiwi Kiss Card Stock for the base of the card. Then I used my Lovely Leaves Die as a punch on my card. I placed my card on my spacer and then put the die on card so I could punch the image through the bottom corner of my card. I then added a few Whisper White flowers from the Birds and Blooms Die Set. I added a bit of Cameo Coral DSP from the Walk in the Park DSP packet to the top of the card. The sentiment that I used is from the Close as a Memory Set and I stamped it with my Going Gray Classic Stamp Pad. I matted the Sentiment with Going Gray and Kiwi Kiss Card Stock. I added a bit of the Whisper White Satin Ribbon from the New Occasions Mini and a Flower Designer Brad to finish. I also used my paper piercing tool to add some decoration to the bottom left corner of the card. I hope you like it and I hope everyone had a nice Easter! See you tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay this morning. Church came first. But here I am. I just wanted to show off these adorable bunny baskets that our Auntie Rain (Lorraine) made for the girls. They are too cute Lorraine! You did a great job. If you would like to see more of Lorraine's work "hop" on over to her blog. http://www.lorrainesstampincorner.blogspot.com/. And leave her a message to let her know that I sent you. Hope you all have a great Easter Sunday!

Cards Received

I have to tell you I can spot a Stampin Up envelope a mile away. It is so exciting to get a card in the mail. I open the cards with so much enthusiasm awaiting to see someones creativity and art. These two cards I received the other day and I just had to share them with you. They are too cute! The first card was made by my cousin. She used white card stock, the the Happy Everything Stamp Set. Then she punched a bunch of small ovals out of various colors of card stock and layered them to look like a pile of eggs. Very creative! The stripes on the bottom of the card are ribbon from the ribbon bundle set (Sale a Bration). The second card is from my friend Jenn. She took a cute picture of her beautiful daughter and put it on a 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 piece of Certainly Celery Card Stock. The Certainly Celery was matted with Pixie Pink (I think is what she told me?) and the Delicate Dots DSP from Sale a Bration. She cut some grass using her snips (a lot of work!). And added an egg and the "Happy Spring" Stamp from the Spring Fling Stamp Set (now retired). You guys did a great job! I love these cards!

Big Bold Birthday

Happy Birthday Nina! My Mother-in-Law's birthday is on Easter Sunday this year. So I made her this card to go along with a little gift that the girls made for her. Sorry I can't tell you what it is in case she is reading right now. But trust me she will love it! For this card I used Pink Pirouette Card Stock for the base and then I matted the card with Whisper White. Then using my Big Bold Cupcake Sizzlit 4-pack Die I cut out three cupcakes using Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and some Baja Breeze DSP from the Level 3 Hostess set Hand Drawn Bundle. For the flame on the candles I used Tangerine Tango Card Stock. Then I added a bit of the Pink Pirouette Ribbon and a little Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkle. In the second picture you will see how I used my Dimensionals to give the card a little depth. Hope you like it. See you tomorrow!

My Family Connections

I would like to take a minute to show everyone my little Stampin Space. This is my stampin room in my house. For this photo I tried to clean it up a bit. My dad built this table for me. Would you like one of your own? He can do that for you too. You can even customize it for your needs: Height, length, width, color, shelving, you name it! I wanted my table to be counter height so that I could rotate from sitting and standing. My dad owns his own Custom Built-In company, C.David Gregory and Co. Inc. located in Livermore. He has been in business for almost 30 years now. And although he made me a beautiful stampin table, that is just the tip of the iceberg of what his (and my brother's) talents can do. More on my brother to come later;) My dad does a lot of work in Restaurants (bars, cabinets, Wainscoting and more!), and Model homes (Media Niches, Wainscoting, toy boxes, shelving, etc.). My brother also did the media niche built-in in my Family Room. Any project you may have they may be able to help you with. If you would like to see more of his work just send me an email and I will forward some more pictures. Have a great day!

Bugs and Kisses

This card I made for a baby shower that I went to last weekend. I used the Bugs and Kisses Stamp Set which is located on our Dormant List. The Dormant List is a list of a few stamp sets that, while they are not retired, they are not printed in our current catalog. That means, that for a limited time (until June 30th) you can still purchase these sets. Then after that time frame these sets may or may not disappear forever. I love this stamp set because even though these are bugs, they are cute enough to make girlie as well. It is hard to see in the picture but if you look closely you will see a pink ladybug peeking out through the "B."I used Almost Amethyst Card Stock for the base of the card. They I added some of the Tea Party DSP. For the matte squares I used Lavender Lace. Then I stamped the smaller bugs on Whisper White Squares that I punched using my 1 3/8" square punch. I added a Chipboard "B" from the On Board Timeless Type set. And I tied on a few bows for added accent. I hope you like it. See you tomorrow!

Clean and Simple

These are some samples of the 3x3 cards I made for some of the Stamp a Stack attendees. I really like 3x3 because they are perfect for gifts, they are quick to make, and simple still looks great. For these cards I cut my Baja Breeze card stock to 3 x6" strips. Then using my bone folder I folded my card in half. Then a added a 2 3/4" square of Pink Pirouette Card stock and a 2 1/2" square piece of whisper white. On my whisper white I stamped "Thanks" using a stamp from the Thank You Kindly Stamp Set on pg. 133 on the Spring-Summer Catalog. I also added the stem of my flower which was a stamp from the Level Two Hostess set Itty Bitty Buds. To finish my card I added a few flowers from the Flower Fusion Too set on pg 177 of the Spring-Summer Catalog.

Remember Ladies! You only have a few more days left to reserve your spot for the Punch Book Class and you have until the 15th to send in your order for Mystery Hostess. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me an email. Have a great day! And remember all order place during the month of April will receive the gift of the month!

Easter Baskets for my Little Chicks

Yesterday we went to the first of many Egg Hunts that we will be going to this year. I am so excited because I am now getting into the really fun times with my girls. They were both so excited to see the Easter Bunny this year. Knowing that this year was going to be our first Easter (where both of my girls will be able to participate in the festivities) I wanted them to have some special Easter Baskets. So I ordered them some plain metal baskets from my favorite online children's store Land of Nod. You can get these buckets in all sorts of colors and a few different sizes. Then once I got them I was able to decorate them to my little hearts content. First I added a Flower Finesse Decor Element to each of the buckets. This particular Decor Element I got for FREE and you can too as a Level one Hostess Set! Next, I added a few butterflies (my absolute favorite die cut!) and a little tag with my girls' initials on it. I also added a little bow on each of the handles. I was really happy with the way they came out. And I have to say, this was my first time using the Decor Elements and they are really simple to put on. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Big Shot

Have you used our Big Shot yet? I just love mine. I was one who took a long time to get hers but once I did I used it for everything. It's just too quick and easy not to. And the machine is only $99.00. That means your name will go into this months "Mystery Hostess" 4 times. However, if you get the starter kit (like I did) then you will have everything you need and more to get started right away making all sorts of cool things. The Big Shot works with ALL competitive dies, and the steel rule dies can cut through an impressive list of 50 different materials, including fabric, foil, and chipboard. It's important to note that there are different types of dies.
Originals, Bigz, and Bigz XL dies. These steel ruled dies cut through virtually any material and multiple sheets of card stock and Designer Series paper.
Sizzlets dies. These dies are small and detailed, often creating scored or perforated details. These dies cut through thin materials, and multiple sheets are not recommended.

In today's posting you will see some hair clips that I made for my girls using my Big Shot and some fun foam. You can also recreate this adorable outfit and bag for your little one or it would make a pretty impressive gift as well.

Flower Bouquet

How cute would it be to give a friend or co-worker a small bouquet of flowers that could set nicely on their desk and would last forever, or as long as the candy does;) I picked up this little tin at Micheal's a while ago. I am always on the look out for things that I can decorate and make my own. Micheal's and Target both have great little items that are under a dollar that are perfect "blank canvases" for you to do what every you like with. Next time you are out shopping try to keep your eye open for these get little finds: votive holders, frames, journals, candy dishes, ect. The possibilities are endless and you can stamp, embellish or add a Decor Element to so many different things. Cards are just the beginning of all the fun to be had out there. I dare you to be creative! Let me see what you got!

For this creation I adhered a friendly rub-on to the front and back of the tin using my Chit Chat Rub-ons, then I filled my little tin (after I lined it with some plastic wrap) with some colorful jelly beans. Next I punched out a few of my Blooms Die Cuts (these are on pg 181 of the Spring-Summer Catalog). Then I attached them to some Popsicle sticks that I also picked up from the baking isle in Michael's. And there you have it. Hope hope you like how it turned out.

Gift of the Month

As promised here is the shopping incentive that I talked about yesterday. For the month of April, everyone that places and order of any amount or refers a new client to me that places an order will receive a special gift from me as a Thank you. These gifts are note pads that are great for grocery lists, to do list, or anything you like. They are all different as you can see. Or if you have a request for a particular stamp set or paper I can do my best to create it for you. I will deliver your note pad with your supplies or if you place your order online to be shipped directly to your home then I will deliver your gift to you personally.

This month I will also be doing Mystery Hostess. What's that? Glad you asked. Email me your order (no online orders for Mystery Hostess please) by the 15th and for every $20 you spend your name will go into a drawing. On the 15th I will have my daughter draw two name out of the hat. The first person's name that is drawn I will call to see if they would like to receive the Hostess Sets earned by the total number of orders placed or if they would like the FREE dollar amount earned. The second name drawn will get to receive the benefit that the first person did not choose. Who knows your name could be chosen twice. That is what happened for our last Mystery Hostess winner Kathy Milam. Mystery Hostess orders are of course separate from the Punch Class minimum orders but they both however will receive the gift of the month. Please click here if you would like to get shopping now.

For every person that places an order during the month of April will receive a special gift from me. I will post the picture tomorrow. So you will have to check back to see what it is. Happy shopping!

Oh, by the way, remember that today is April fool's day. It's a good day to play a trick on someone you just love to tease. Or be on the look out for someone that may be playing a trick on you! Just lookin' out for you;) Have a great day.
