Scrapbook pages

These are some scrapbook pages I made for a book I am working on for my grandma. My grandma started a wonderful tradition for the girls in our family. We have a dress that she took both of her daughter's pictures in. Then when she had granddaughters she took their pictures in the dress (I was one of them.) Now that we have great-granddaughters arriving we are still continuing this great tradition. I just took my youngest daughters picture yesterday. The collection of photos are really special to our family.

These pages were super simple. I used a DSP called Junior Varsity for these(retired now). The great thing about DSP is all the colors and patterns match. The catalog also tells you all the matching colors in the packet so there is no guess work. I love it! For these pages I just stamped the first initial of each girl's name using the Lovely Letters stamp set. I then punched them out using both the 1 /14 circle first, then 1 3/8 circle for matting, then finally the scallop circle to finish. I added some of the So Saffron Ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Ribbon Bundle and that was that. I can't wait to show my grandma!

Something Sweet

This card I made from a borrowed Stamp Set. Tart and Tangy. A good little tip I have for you if you are one of those people (like me) that have a huge wish list is: Start stampin with your girl friends and if you find that you like the same stamp sets buy opposite sets and share. It's one way to increase your inventory without having to pay for it all. You can also start a "Super Stampers group". What's that? Give me a call and we can talk about it! Stay tuned for more tips on how to stretch your Stampin Supplies and stay frugal in a down market. Remember when money is tight a card is always a meaningful and inexpensive way to say you are thinking about someone.

This card was made with Riding Hood Red paper and Ink, Old Olive paper and Ink and Chocolate chip paper. I also added the Riding Hood Red Striped Ribbon. I added some dimensional to the strawberry for some pop and an extra one under just the stem. You may be able to see that in the second picture (sorry it's a little out of focus). Lastly, I added a sentiment from the chit chat rub-ons "Sending Warm Wishes." You like?

B is for Birthday

This card was given to my daughter for her 2nd birthday by one of my friends. I am non sure if it was her original design or if it was a CASE but ether way I think she did a really beautiful job. I just love this card. She used the "Just B' Stamp set. Then my best guess for colors are: Passion Pink and Basic Black. She also added a bit of black gingham ribbon. Just thought I would share. Remember you can always send me a copy of a great card you made or received and you might see it posted here! Just remember to let me know what supplies were used and if it was a CASE (copy and share) let me know where you originally saw it so we can give credit where credit is due. Again, great job Jenn! I just love this card, it's a keeper. Have a great day.

Demonstrator Swap

This card I made for our demonstrator meeting. At every meeting a group of us demonstrators get together to share the "Tricks of the trade" and we also have a card swap. It is great because I get to socialize with fellow demonstrators, I get a stack of new cards (made with current products), we do several make-n-takes and we help keep each other on track. I love being a demonstrator and I would love for you to join me! What do you have to loose? If nothing else it could be a discount on the supplies you already buy and who knows you just might be the next Rising Star!

This card was made with very vanilla card stock. I stamped the Congratulations sentiment in Chocolate Chip Ink along with the Happy Retirement saying. Then I punched three flowers using the 5-petal flower out of Summer Sun, Cameo Coral and Pumpkin Pie. I tied them on using the chocolate chip taffeta ribbon. I punched a window using the 1 3/8 circle and added the tropical drink to the inside of the card. It is hard to see in the picture but I also added a bit of dazzling diamonds to the rim of the drink glass. This was a simple card and in case you don't know anyone who is retiring soon this card can easily be turned into a birthday card. Hope you like.

This card was made for Ava and Sammie's wonderful God parents. They drove all the way up here from L.A. after work one night so they could be here for our baby dedication, then drove home after. They are truly amazing! My girls are so blessed to have them is their lives. I just wish they were closer. If you guys are reading now, we miss you!

This card was made with the pocket silhouettes stamp set. I layered whisper white, chocolate chip and brocade blue card stock. To finish I added some hodge podge hardware and a bit of chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and that was that.

Easy Valentine Treat Basket

Here is the Valentine's Treat Basket I made for my girls. It was super simple. This size basket used one 12 x 12 sheet of card stock (I used Rose Red). You can also use 6x6 paper for practice or for a small treat holder. Score in three equal parts in both directions. Then you will cut the outside corner squares in half diagonally so that your shape now looks like a big stop sign. Now you can cut along the score line on the top and bottom middle squares only.Next you will cut the top and bottom middle squares down to about 3/4 of their length (so they don't show when you fold up your box). Now it is time to fold up your box. The shape will come together and hopefully this will all make sense. Finish with adding a handle and embellishments. On my creation I used the Loads of Love Stamp set and Tempting Turquoise Ribbon. I apologise if these directions are confusing. Try it out and let me know how it looks.

Valentine for Hubby

This was the valentine I made for my hubby this year. I don't know about you, but I have a hard time with cards for guys. But this time I decided to keep it simple. I love my husband but I am not sure he is capable of appreciating a really complex card. For the most part he gets to look at it, read it, then give it back! :) This card was made with So Saffron Card Stock, Basic Black Card Stock and Jackpot DSP. I stamped the "Jackpot" stamp from the Game Night Stamp Set on the front. I added a heart and that was that. He seemed to really like it. The inside of the card read "We hit the Jackpot with you!"

Aloha!

Aloha! This was the favor I made for my Sis-in-law's bridal shower. My sis got married in Hawaii (obviously!) so the whole shower had a tropical theme. I thought the tropical "Cocktail" favors came out really cute. The votive I got from Michael's and they were only 98 cents each. I didn't think that was too bad considering they can use them for candles once they finish the candy. They were decorated with colorful straws and tropical drink umbrellas from Party City. Then they were filled with jelly beans. I tied a bit of 5/8" Kiwi Kiss Ribbon on them. To top them off I added the orange wedge from the Tart and Tangy SU Stamp Set. Hope you like.

Stampin with Niki

Welcome. I would like to thank you for visiting my blog. Just to let you know a little about me: My name is Niki and I live in Tracy, CA with my wonderful husband of five years now, my two beautiful daughters Ava and Sammie and one fluffy Husky. Stampin Up has been my hobby, my passion and my hopeless addiction for the last five years. I became a demonstrator in August of 2008 and I am loving the girl time and friendly connections it has brought me to. This blog is my attempt to "Create. Inspire. and Share" with you. I hope you enjoy it and come back often for all your Stampin Updates!
